Lamin Harbour is a well-known tourist destination, active fishing harbor and an important sight of ecological diversity and naturel beauty.
2020 has been a challenging year for
everyone as the Covid 19 virus has swept across the globe. We at Lamin harbour have faced the closure of the restaurants and businesses on the sight and a near total loss of income for many people that would normally come from tourism in the area.
From these difficult circumstances has grown new community connections, strength and resilience. We have pulled together to support one another and now a new Community Centre has been born that hopes to continue this positive movement.
Projects so far have included offering an ongoing lunch club everyday, renovating shelters, buildings and boats, removing shipwrecks and developing regular sports activities.
As we pull together through these difficult times, The Lamin Harbour Community Centre can be an important resource for the local community and support the development of this wonderful area in many positive ways.
