The Community Centre has been launched by a small group of founding members motivated to support the community during this difficult time of the Covid 19 pandemic.
This has been an opportunity to kick start various projects and now we are looking to expand the team and support the sustainable development of harbor area into the future.
As the Community Centre becomes established we will create a board of members with specific roles to look after the efficient running and administration of the organisation.

famara trawally
Famara Trawally is a well-respected figure in the Lamin harbor. He is a community leader who runs a restaurant here and has a wealth of experience within tourism, as well as the necessary knowledge of local administrative organizations essential in getting a project like this off the ground and rooted within the local community.
maarten leuftink
Maarten Leuftink is a Dutch sailing Captain who arrived in The Gambia to work with a charter sailing company on a boat moored in Lamin harbour. He has many years of experience in community development work in Amsterdam and since the Pandemic his charter project has been on hold allowing him to working tirelessly to help initiate the Community Centre project with the local community.

Ed Wade-Martins is a British sailor moored in the creek and has been involved in projects in The Gambia since 1995. He brings many years of experience in community development and education. He is passionate about supporting the foundation of the Community Centre and developing international links and a future vision.
gibril senghore
Gibril Senghore is a local pirogue captain and has been a driving force in developing the harbour to accommodate visiting international yachts as well as working with tourists providing a positive experience of this beautiful place. He is a representative of a newgeneration of active local entrepreneurs eager to help shape the future of the Lamin Harbour.
